Choco department is located in the western coast of Colombia and the major part of the department borders the Pacific Ocean. This is one of the best preserved natural landscapes in the country due to its isolation. The lush jungles and frequent rainfalls ensure amazing biodiversity of the region.
During this tour we will walk through the pacific beaches from Nuqui till Termales. The immense black solitary beaches, the innumerable currents of fresh water, the beauty of the jungle, sharing with local afro-american communities – those are the experiences each traveller will live during this walking adventure.
Day 1: Charter flight Medellin – Nuqui. In the afternoon a 5 km walk along the beach till we reach the Pangui community where we will spend the night in local homes.
Day 2: First part of the day will be a walk through the jungle till we reach the beach again and continue till he next community called Coqui. In the late afternoon we will do a short mangrove tour from Cocqui. Night in the community.
Day 3: We will start the day with a half hour walk on the beach till Jovi. Here we will take a local canoe boat on the small Jovi river to reach the Chantoduro waterfall. In the afternoon walking along the beach till the Termales community.
Day 4: Today we can expect a 3 hour jungle walk to visit the waterfall “Cuantro encantos”. This is a great opportunity to spot the small colorful frogs famous of the region. After the walk we will relax in the hot springs. In the afternoon a boat ride till the southernmost point of the Gulf of Tribuga called “Cabo Corrientes”.
In the late afternoon the boat will take us to the beach cabins where we will spend 2 nights.
Day 5: After 4 days of walking this day will be a deserved rest in beach cabins.
Day 6: Transfer by boat to Nuqui, charter flight Nuqui – Medellin.

- Night comfort: very basic in the communities while the beach
- Lodge simple but comfortable (no hot water)
- All the activities might vary depending on weather
- Whale season: July to October
- This tour can be extended, for example, adding additional cultural activities in the area of Medellin (Antioquia)
